GOTCHA DAY!!!!!

OUR GOTCHA DAY WAS TODAY!!!!! (November 22, 2013)

Last minute change in plans and it worked great!!!!

See in the pics : getting dressed with help from mama for the first time!!, then saying good bye to nannies and friends, then he made an stop to get his little treasures from his locker ( a candy wrap a little stick from a tree , and a tiny story book that I had given to him 3 days ago!!!) then he put everything in the pocket of his new jacket and "let's go mama"........

Great Day Today......

I am very happy , today was a very productive day!!! . With help from our wonderful translator Alyona I was able to have a meeting with my son's therapists and to have all my questions answered regarding his speech and cognitive treatments and progress. This orphanage has three doctors and they are very helpful and pro international adoption as well , it has been a huge blessing and a very different experience from our previous adoption.....thank you God!!!........and , continuing with the blessings.. today I met our son's God mother!!! (with Nicholas in the picture below ) She is a sweet young girl from a local church; she has been visiting him twice a month since March this year. She was glad she got to say good bye to him before his trip home. We exchanged addresses , numbers, e-mails.....so sweet and loving girl!!!

..Just few more days to go......hopefully this Wednesday I will be able to get my son out of the Orphanage for good!!!!! .......praying for it.......can't wait!!!!!

Since Willy and the kids went home, Nicholas has asked for "papa" and for Daniel and Lucia during each visit , with help from our translator his nannies have explained to him that they went home , and that he will go home with mama in few days....that has helped!

Since it has been just me and my Nicholas , we have had more quiet times and I have enjoyed watching different sides of my son....

and at the same time I feel so honored to be his God's chosen mother!........it is such an overwhelming feeling that I just HAVE praise HIM and pray , pray, pray...it brings to my heart words from a book of Nancy Guthrie and also S. Tebos...."When our prayers move from superficial to Significant, we invite God to do no less than a deep , transforming work in our life and in the lives of those for we are praying"......

If you are reading this today it is because you are special to us, to our family and have an special place in our lives. So, please , pray with me today for our precious son Nicholas :

...Dear Lord , 

Our son Nicholas was born in less than ideal circumstances ,

we don't know what his future holds, but You do,

we have so many hopes and dreams for him, but

he is not our creation he is yours,

Lord teach us how to pray for him,

Lord help us to be able to recognize our child's strengths, gifts 

and talents and build on them, show us how to encourage his unique 

identity,

Please Lord help us understand how our son was affected by his

relinquishment and any unsolved grief issues he may have...

Lord use us in a powerful way to be our son's safe heaven...

Lord help us to clearly hear and know our son's heart,

Lord, please make us aware of our needs (Willy and I) as his parents,

to hear and be sensitive to YOUR direction so we can guide 

Nicholas with wisdom, discernment ,compassion and humility...

In Jesus name I pray,

Today Willy went back home with Daniel and Lucia ( grrrrr... I miss them already!) I will stay in Ukraine until I can fly back home in company of our little Nicholas, hopefully in 2 weeks......

Praying today for God's protection  over my husband and our children,  for a safe return home .....

Day of "Firsts".......

Today was the First Day that our son came to us asking for a hug , and also gave papa lots of kisses!!! ( while this very jealous and happy mama took pictures!!!)

He found a lady bug and after looking at it for a minute , put it back down and let it go , so gentle......my sweet boy!

...he is really a "handy boy!", he also likes gardening......

In second picture , Daniel was sad because he got in little bit of trouble with "mama", and " his very kind new brother" felt sorry for him and sat next to him and hugged him! ( how sweet was that!)

Our little one is very active , very curious and quite a mechanic! He really enjoyed this "mechanic set" today. Daddy is very happy about it! " no more lonely days in his garage!"

They hit the jack pot!!!!Mama and Papa let them play as much as they wanted with all the toys kept in boxes in this play area , until we got caught! ( got in trouble! All toys back to the boxes!, "they are not suppose to play with toys", ha! Ok!) but they were in heaven for at least 30 minutes!
